KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE & WARM

 

Low-income families spend approximately 40% of their monthly household income on utilities. CLM Community Action Agency and Walk for Warmth is often the last line of help for families in crisis.  We need  your help to ensure that people in need of assistance will not be turned away this winter.

 

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

1. Walk:  Come out and join us!  Start collecting pledges and choose to make a difference in your community!

2. Captain a Team of Walkers:  Reach out to family, friends and co-workers to form a Walk Team.        

3. Distribute Walk Brochures:  Help us spread the word and recruit more walkers.  

4. Make a Corporate or In-Kind Donation.

5. Make your own WFW event.:  Call (906)632-3363 for Details.

THE WALK ROUTE

The Walk for Warmth  starts from Avery Square, 510 Ashmun Street, and heads south on Ashmun to Easterday Ave., crosses the street and then we head north to Water Street, across the street back to Avery Square.  Those who elect not to complete the Walk in its entirety will not be penalized.

REGISTRATION

The registration booth will be located in the center of the Avery Square Atrium.  

EVENT PRIZES

Participants will be entered to win great door prizes.  You must be present to win.  There are special awards for teams of walkers.  Awards go to the adult team and youth team (members 18 and under).

As Chippewa Luce Mackinac County Community Action Agency’s only annual fundraising event, the Walk raises funds for people faced with making the choice to feed their family or heat their homes.

We all know people who are hurting financially.  They are our neighbors, family members, and friends.  We must act now to help alleviate the struggles of our fellow community members and ensure that their homes remain safe and warm.

Through our Walk for Warmth, Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action Agency stands committed to keeping Chippewa County’s  neediest residents safe and warm.
